He was predeceased by: his brother Ronald; his parents, Robert Benedict and Irene Benedict; his sister Barbara (Donald O'Hara); and his brother-in-law William Smart.
He is survived by: his sisters, Dorothy Benedict, Kay Benedict Sgarlata (Tony) and Carol Smart; his nieces and nephews, Patrick Smart (Robin), Michael Smart (Mindy), Stephen Smart, Marybeth Smart, Susan Rusyniak (Jim), John O'Hara, Jeanne Baily (Martin), Joseph O'Hara (Bridgett), Mark O'Hara (Karen) and Maureen Beckermann (Tom); and also Benny. He is also survived by five great nieces and nephews.
