He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick "Fritz" Ferris and Patricia Ferris (Hartgrove); his brother Shawn Ferris; and his brother-in-law Wayne Bell. He is survived by: his children, Ryan Ferris (Ngun) of Rochester, Chantel Richenberg (John) of Stafford, Leanna Ferris (Eric) of Batavia and Matthew Ferris of Pavilion; his grandchildren, Aislyn, Henry, Ada and Isla; his sisters, Sandra Bell of Batavia and Lynn Hilchey (Craig) of Plattsburgh; his nieces and nephews, Chris Hilchey (Nikki Hilchey), Jon Bell (Angel), Jacob Bell and Devon Ferris (Joshua Ferris); his aunt Cherry Hobbs of LeRoy; and his uncle Ed Hartgrove of Florida.
