He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Stokes and Bertha Rich Stokes; his wife Viola M. Buck Stokes; his daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Jurs; and his siblings, Robert Stokes and Virginia Kidney.
He is survived by: his daughter Barbara Benedict (Jeffrey) of Rochester; his son-in-law John Jurs of Albion; his grandsons, Joshua Jurs (Robin) of Barre and Jacob Jurs (Katherine) of Barre; his stepgranddaughter Jennifer Jurs; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Jurs and Mason Jurs; his siblings, Raymond Stokes (Shirley) of East Bethany, Esther Johnson of Oakfield, Edith Bezon of Byron and Dixie Rudolph (Charles) of Batavia; and his sister-in-law Doris Stokes of East Bethany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
