He is survived by: his wife Anita Powers; his children, John (Katherine) and Kimberly Powers-Gorich (George); his grandchildren, Allison, Sean Powers and Jack Gorich; his brother James Powers (Dolly); and his friends, Bobby Knight, Lou Carnesecca, Jerry West and Ken Norton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home (824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary (8 Carman Rd, Scarsdale, NY 10583).
A longtime resident of Eastchester and Montauk, NY, Jack's life was defined by his unwavering devotion to Manhattan College, his contributions to athletics, and his passion for mentoring others.
