He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mazzella and Concetta Mazzella; his son Steven; and his sisters, Louise, Antonette and JoAnn.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his son John; his daughter-in-law Lori Mazzella; his daughter Janice; his son-in-law Gary Starace; his grandchildren, Steven Aiello (Kristina), Michael Aiello (Monica), Frank Mazzella (Arielle) and Tori Mazzella; his great grandchildren, Philip and Joseph Aiello; his stepgrandchildren, Christopher, Julie Starace, Michael, Jamie Starace, Robert, Ashley Starace, Taylor and Sophia Kapusinski-Russo; his nieces, Cara Gadero and Antonia Polcini (Dorothy); and his nephew Dennis Capponi (Laura). He is also survived by numerous loving extended family and friends.
