He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Caitlin, Meredyth and Alex; his stepchildren, Michelle Messmer, Patricia Messmer (Ryan Dunn) and Joseph Messmer (Briana Murray); and his granddaughter Olivia Dunn.
In lieu of services, John wished to invite donations to Frances House (Hospice in Syracuse), where he found peace.
