He is survived by: his parents, Anna Marie Burns and John Burns Sr.; his wife Christie Casciano Burns; his children, Stephanie MacDerment (Matthew), Sarah Fairbrother (Jeff), John "Jake" Burns (Shauna), Joseph Burns (Elizabeth LaComb) and Sophia Burns; his grandchildren, Kenadie, Miller, Daiya, Emery, Ethan, Juli and Elyza; and his siblings, Kathleen Holm, Debbie Linnertz (Paul), Karen Knapp (Lee), Dan Burns (Betsy), Margaret Fusco (Vincenzo) and Eileen Irwin (Robert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
