As Joan departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Joan leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Albro and Sara Albro; and her husband Charles Tolhurst. She is survived by: her children, David (Cynthia), Charles (Alice), Kathy Coon (David) and Susan Tolhurst (Richard Carnes); her sister-in-law Agnes Albro; and her friend Thomas Richardson (Robyn). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home (241 Kinne St, East Syracuse, NY 13057). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church (400 W Yates St, East Syracuse, NY 13057).
