He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Herko and Joe Herko; his siblings, Robert (Anna Herko), Arnold Herko, Elaine Herko, Howard Herko and Pearl; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Boch and Jerre Tyree.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Morey Herko; his children, Frederick Herko (Maria), Suzanne Tordai (Laszlo), James J. Herko Jr. (Deanna), Maryann Reiss (Mike Prince) and William Herko; his grandchildren, Eva, Sofia Herko, Austin, Annabelle, Elliott Tordai, Matthew, Sarah Herko, Nicholas (Staci), Jonathon Reiss and Amanda Herko; his great grandchild Dean Reiss; his sister Carol Tyree; and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Herko. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
