He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph LaFay and Cecelia LaFay; and his siblings, Donald, Theodore "Teddy", Jean, Joseph, Jr. and Cecelia "Sandy".

He is survived by: his son Joseph LaFay (Jayne); and his grandchildren, Victoria, Gracie, Mary Rose, Cecelia, Robert, John, Tommy and Emily. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
