He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Bender and Veronica Bender; and his siblings, Kenneth, Edward, Andrew, Wayne and Jean.
He is survived by: his wife Grace; his children, Richard Bender Jr. (Carolyn), Jeffrey Bender, Susan Novak (John), Timothy Bender, Michael Bender and Jennifer Quail (Mark); his grandchildren, Lauren Martin (Jason), Erica Bender, Madeline, Olivia Novak, Ethan and Deidre Quail; his great grandchildren, Cole and Caroline Martin; and his sister Kathryn Bellinger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
