He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis A. Fortin and Cecile Surprenant Fortin of Cohoes, NY.; and his brother William Fortin (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Cepiel Fortin; his brother Ronald (Frances); his sister-in-law Crystal Fortin; his children, Timothy Fortin (Diane), Robert Fortin (Patricia) and Suzanne Fortin Conroy (Darrin); and his grandchildren, Robert Fortin (Rochelle), Matthew Fortin, Denise Fortin, Erin Levesque and Sylvie Conroy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
