Joseph R. O'Brien Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph R. O'Brien of East Greenbush, New York, who passed away on November 12, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph and Jeanette (Clement) of Pittsfield; his daughter Colleen Kovacs (Robert); his sister Patricia Noel (Richard); his wife Helen (Watson); his children, Deborah O'Brien, Maureen Zangeneh (Ali), Erin O'Keefe, Joseph O'Brien and Daniel O'Brien; his siblings, Jean Lincoln, John, Robert (Mary) and Michael (Margaret); and his grandchildren, Fred, Jessica Hosley, Josh Hayner, Cerise Bauknight, Allie Joy, Chloe Zangeneh, Katie, Sean, Megan O'Brien, Emily Farris, Kelsey, Ryan Kovacs, Ansley, Kevin and Michaela O'Keefe. He was also cherished by many cousins and in-laws.

All appropriate COVID precautions remain in effect for the Mass: masks used at all times in church, social distancing, use of hand sanitizer, seating in alternating pews. “Dear Aunt Helen, Joe, Debbie, Maureen, Dan and Erin, Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Uncle Dick was a smart, funny and humble man who was always willing to help with anything and he everything!! He was a great Godfather. He so loved his family, especially his “Girlfriend”. I wish that my family and I could join you at Uncle Dick’s funeral Mass, but we will have to defer grieving in person to a safer time. Much love, Kate”
