He was predeceased by: his parents, John Murphy and Helen Murphy (Stodolski); his wife Barbara Murphy (Schafer); and his siblings, Rosemary DiPace (Borowsky), Irene Barnick (Borowsky) and Stanley Borowsky.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Murphy (Kimberly), Timothy Murphy (Ann) and John Murphy (Connie); his grandchildren, John William, Alexander, Caroline and Owen Murphy; and his cousins, Carol Ann Siemion (Gatto), Paul Constantine, Ruth Martin (Constantine), Ann Marilyn LaBlanc (Kutryb), Patricia McGarvey (Kutryb), Peggy Burke and Timothy Burke. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, and grand dogs.
The "old neighborhood" had the power to shake off some of the worst effects of the Alzheimer's that ultimately caused his death.
