He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold A. Gaunay and Mary M. Gaunay (Navojoskey); his wife Margaret Brearton; his daughter Carol Gaunay; and his siblings, Jim Gaunay and Shirley Gilmore.
He is survived by: his sons, James Gaunay (Karen) of Malta and Timothy Gaunay (Angela) of Wynantskill; his grandchildren, Kristin Galante (Matthew), Eric Gaunay (Chelsey), Ashley Gaunay (Phil) and Justin Cooper (Kim); his great grandchildren, Gianna and Julia Galante; his caregiver Jennifer Siegal (David); and his nephews, Tommy Gilmore and Jamie Gilmore. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
