She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ernest J. Gates; her sons, Daniel (Linda) and Michael; her granddaughters, Hannah Yockey (Chad) and Alicia Gates; her great grandchild Weston Yockey; and her siblings, Clayton Bailey, Hilda Hill and Shirley Guhl.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
