He was predeceased by: his siblings, Robert, Thomas (Ronnie) and Joseph McCaffrey (Jan). He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his daughters, Jennifer Butler (Peter) and Cynthia McCaffrey (David Abbatoy); his grandchildren, Megan Flynn (Cody), Connor and Quinn Butler; and his siblings, Ann May (Don) and Michael McCaffrey.

The family encourages memorials be made to Catholic Charities of Buffalo.
