He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Cheney; his parents, Edward Cheney and Catherine "Helen" Cheney; and his siblings, Gerald, Thomas, Mary Joyce Schaefer and Kathleen Anderson.

He is survived by: his children, Paul Jr. (Alicia), Timothy (Jeanne), Janice, John Cheney and Lisa Abruzzino (Michael); his sister Helen Lawandus; and his sister-in-law Laura Wurstner (late Thomas). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to Hospice Buffalo or Saint Joseph's University School.
