He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Herberger; his children, Donna Allan (Jeffrey), Jeffrey (Mary Beth), Andrew (Lynn), Brian (Maureen) and Daniel (Jaima); his siblings, Loraine Galley (William), Richard (Harriet) and Gerald Herberger (Marianne); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Ann and Joanne Herberger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, where Donald was a lifelong parishioner, or Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
