He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Cowan and Mildred Cowan (Rhinehart); his siblings, Lawrence (Norma Cowan), Virginia (John VanWormer), Erwin (Myrna Cowan), Wayne Cowan, Vera (Wes Ives) and Glen (Alvin Cowan); and his siblings-in-law, Hilton Farquhar, Richard, James Rushford and Margaret Rushford.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Rushford; his children, Scott (Lynn Cowan), Clint (Brenda Cowan), Marilyn (Todd Leblanc) and Kelly (Jennifer Cowan); and his siblings-in-law, Beverly, Marie Cowan, June Farquhar, Robert Rushford and Ronnie Goodrow. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
