He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Wider Sr. and Charlotte Paul Wider; his brother William Ingrham; and his son William Victor Wider. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Wider; his daughter Charlotte Blair (Sean) of Earlton; his grandsons, Christopher Blair (Kathryn) of Ravena, Connor Blair of Earlton, Cameron Blair of Leeds and Carter Blair of Earlton; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Staley-Ross of Selkirk, Martha Ingrham of Staatsburg, Lawrence Ross Jr. of Earlton and Richard Moore (Debbie Jo) of West Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and cousins.
