He was predeceased by: his parent Frank James; his wife Mary Brantly Trautwein; and his son Walter B. Trautwein. He is survived by: his parent Elsie Ina Trautwein (Lang); his children, Lee Firlit (Ed) of Gansevoort and Tom Trautwein (Amie) of Cambridge; his sister Joan Sheehey of Scarsdale; and his grandchildren, Leah Scully (Josiah), Hayden Trautwein, Justin, Alex and Benjamin Firlit.
