He was predeceased by: his parents, John Peter Szydlo Sr. and Helen Szydlo; his former wife Susan Szydlo; and his brother Thomas Szydlo. He is survived by: his son John Szydlo (Nicole); his grandsons, Jack Michael and Wilson Reagan; his son Michael Szydlo (Marisa Franchini); his granddaughters, Edith Ann and Nora Cecilia; his siblings, Sharon Domst (Bill) and David Szydlo (Mary); his sister-in-law Merle Szydlo; and his wife Sue. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family and friends, and caregivers.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 16th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home (56 E Doughty St, Dunkirk, NY 14048). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Bma Church of St. Hedwig. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Hyacinth's Cemetery (3607-3651 Lake Shore Dr E, Dunkirk, NY 14048).
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be made to Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels.
