Ellen M. DeSanto Obituary

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgard Read and Bessie Mae Read Humphries (McMachan); her husband Francis R. "Sonny" DeSanto; and her sisters, Lynn Ward and Joan Battey.

She is survived by: her children, David DeSanto (Lisa) of Texas, Lynn DiMartino (John) of Rochester, NY and Mary Ellen Smith (Pat) of Hornell; her grandchildren, Amber Smith (Cody Greene), Elyssa Stewart (Zach), Haydn Smith, Natalie and Alex DiFiore; and her brother-in-law Richard DeSanto of Rochester, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bishop-Johnson & DeSanto Funeral Home (285 Main St, Hornell, NY 14843). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the St. Ann's Church (35 Erie Ave, Hornell, NY 14843). A burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at the Willowbrook Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to Elderwood at Hornell, 1 Bethesda Drive, Hornell, NY 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
