He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart G. Merritt and Margaret Merritt (Rugg). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn E. Merritt; his children, James Merritt (Lee) of Penn Yan, NY, Robin Slaby (Richard) of Little Sioux, IA, Judy Woodruff (Joseph) of Penn Yan and Stewart Merritt III; his grandchildren, James Merritt of San Francisco, CA, Jordan Merritt of Mount Joy, PA, Morgan Beasley (Carson) of Easton, MD, Daniel Morehouse of Dubai, Joshua Woodruff of Penn Yan and Justin Woodruff (Samantha) of Rushville, NY; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, James, Oliver, Doris Beasley of Easton, MD, Malory, Brent Morehouse of Kentucky, Maksim, Laikyn Woodruff of Penn Yan, Jayden of Rushville, Austin Mincer of Rushville, Landon of Rushville, Paislee of Rushville and Nolan Woodruff of Rushville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
