He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Axtell (Floyd Nageldinger) and Lawrence Axtell; his siblings, Barb Champlin, Theresa Nageldinger, Terry Axtell, Eddie Nageldinger and Troy Nageldinger; and his grandchildren, Ethen Eslick and Joe Cadwell.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Axtell; his children, Nanci Clark (Robert), Jack Ayers (Shelley), Bobbie-Jo Cadwell (Scott), Danny Morris (Patsy), Tammy Kerr (Chris), Richard Jr. Axtell (Miriam), Kelly Anderson (Alicia), Cathy Piner (Allan), Larry Scofield (Leslie), Liz Waite (David) and Allen Earl; and his siblings, Larry Nageldinger, Dwyte Nageldinger (Carryl), Larry Axtell (Elsie), Cathy Krnotch, Mark Johnson, Barry Shade and Les Burd. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Dundee American Legion (10 Spring St, Dundee, NY 14837).
