He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo Canastra and Mary Thompson Canastra. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his sons, Richard E. Canastra Jr. (Kristen) of Ballston Spa, Jeffrey Canastra (Sandy) of Colonie and Brian Canastra of Duanesburg; his brothers, Robert Canastra (Harriett) of California and Roger Canastra (Marie) of Quaker St; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Mathew, Melissa, Brian and Bianca Canastra. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
