She was predeceased by: her parents, Beauford W. Grant and Veda Grant (Farrington); her husband Douglas A. Benson; her brothers, John F. Grant and Beauford E. "Sonny" Grant; and her grandson Rob Ryan Acken.
She is survived by: her children, Wanda Calabro (John) of Dover Plains, Linda Acken (Robert) of Dover Plains, Veda Gardner (Russell) of Kansas City, MO, Lori Couture (Joseph) of Dover Plains and Alan D. Benson (Lorraine) of Pine Plains. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
