He was predeceased by: his parents, Joaquim Fonseca of Almeida and Amelia Cunha Fonseca; his son Jose Manuel Almeida, Jr.; and his sister Ceu Tavares. He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth "Liz" Ford (Christopher) of Sloatsburg, NY; his sister Nazare Santiago of Portugal; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Sean and Alexis. He is also survived by his extended family includes cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hufcut Funeral Home (3159 NY-22, Dover Plains, NY 12522). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Church (62 Mill St, Dover Plains, NY 12522).
