He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur R. Bell and Masie Sargent (Adams); and his brothers, Arthur Bell and Kenneth Bryant. He is survived by: his wife Jane Hyde; his children, George H. Bell, Jr. (Joan) of Dover Plains, NY and Sherry Alberts (CB) of Dalton, MA.; his siblings, Lee Bell of California, Stanley Sargent of Willimantic, CT, Anna Parkes of Farmington, CT and Marion Davidson of Woodstock Valley, CT; and his grandchildren, Rachel Vallone, Chas Alberts and Ashley Alberts. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
