He was predeceased by: his parents, Kolman Ernye and Zsophia Ernye (Dudas); his siblings, Helen Levine, Steve Ernye (Lucienne), Margaret Zoeckler (Alan), Andrew Erney (Kathryn), Zaida Valik (Paul) and Bertha Ellis (Gordon, Jr.); and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Smith and Robert Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Ernye (Smith); his children, Susan Davis (Jeffrey) of Morehead City, NC, Richard Ernye, Jr. (Marie) of Fairfield, CT, Sharon Willis of Charlotte, NC and Shelly Howe (Jeffrey) of Warwick, RI.; his grandchildren, Donald Willis, III of Charlotte, NC, Katherine Ernye of Fairfield, CT, Jack Howe of Warwick, RI, Darcy Marra (Davis), Cory Davis and Chris Davis; and his siblings-in-law, Raymond Smith and Esther Ellis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Miller-Plonka Funeral Home (30 Wolf St, Dolgeville, NY 13329). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Dolgeville Cemetery West State (125 W State St, Dolgeville, NY 13329).
