Joan M. Bretts Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan M. Bretts of Dobbs Ferry, New York, born in Yonkers, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 23, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Henry L. Bretts; her parents, Genieve Martin and Cecil Martin; her brother Bruce Martin; and her grandson Robert "Bobby" Zahurak Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Diane Cain (Richard), Susan Zahurak (Robert) and Henry "Rusty" Bretts (Lori); her grandchildren, Jessica McDaniel (Dale), Julia Bretts, Megan Zeng (Patrick), Nicole Cain and Henry Bretts IV; and her friend Susan Alexander.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home (64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to SPCA Westchester (https://spcawestchester.org) in honor of Joan's lifelong love for animals.
