She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Ortiz and Adelaida Ortiz. She is survived by: her husband Francisco "Paco" Melendez; her daughters, Edna and Susana; her granddaughters, Ariana and Miya; and her sons-in-law, Albert and Leonard.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home (64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522). A Mass was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (417 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522).
