He is survived by: his wife Patricia; and his children, Gregory Alan of Flowery Branch, GA, Gary Nelson of Laurel, MD, Jeffrey Scot of Hertford, NC, Jon Keith of Winter Garden, FL and Robin Michele Batty of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

“My sincerest condolences to the Bonadies family. I just found out today the sad news about my friend. Al was not only my flight instructor, but he was a good friend who was genuine and compassionate. If life got busy, and I had difficulty finding time to call him, he would find the time to call me. The last time we spoke, we agreed that we were going to have coffee together to catch up on life. Unfortunately, that never happened. Al will always have a special place in my heart and memory.”
