He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Slate. He is survived by: his mother Carol Robidoux Slate; his wife Sherry S. Claflin; and his children, George Slate (Jan) of Norfolk, Stephanie Walseman (Chris Hunt) of Watertown and Julia Mullen (Clifford) of Naples, Italy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
