He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Douglas Donaldson and Dorothy Donaldson (White); his wife Sharon Stevens; his son Steven; and his sister Bonnie Goebel.
He is survived by: his children, D. David Donaldson (Linda) of Dexter, Lori Plantz of Dexter and Beth Stults (Rodney) of Rockwood, TN; and his sister Donna Austin of North Carolina. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
