He was predeceased by: his wife Irene; his daughter Donna; and his sister Marie Kuhn. He is survived by: his children, Gerald (Ruth), Laurel Hendricks (Robert), John (Janet) and Kathryn (Dale); his siblings, Mary Priscilla, Edward, Dolores Brittain and Richard; and his godchild Lynn Bonfante. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
