He was predeceased by: his siblings, Norma Havens (late Robert) and Gordon Tober. He is survived by: his wife Mary Alexandra "Nickie" Tober; his children, Karen Machnica, Michael (Mary Ann), James, Jon Sr. and David (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Jon Jr., Tara (Tristan), Amanda, Elizabeth, Matthew, Ryan, Alex and Ellie; and his great grandchildren, Ciaran and Desi. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lancaster-Depew Chapel (6050 Transit Rd, Depew, NY 14043). A prayer was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke Lutheran Church (900 Maryvale Dr, Cheektowaga, NY 14225). A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Holy Rest Cemetery (1707 E Delavan Ave, Cheektowaga, NY 14215).
