He was predeceased by: his wife Irene; and his siblings, Albert (late Jean), Lenore Thurlow (late Donald), Stanley (late Alice) and Richard Kutas.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Szymczak (Michael), Robert Kutas, Donna Stachewicz (David) and Michelle Murphy (Christopher); his grandchildren, Melissa, Melanie, Cheryl, Daniel, Douglas, Drew, Kyle, Dana, Keith and Kevin; his great grandchild Leighton; and his brother Lucian Kutas (Martha). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
