She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilford Barnhart and Viola Barnhart (Russell); and her siblings, Herbert, Robert, Sonny and Dot.

She is survived by: her husband Arthur Howard, Jr. of Delhi; her children, Robert Howard of Delhi, Mark Howard (Lu-Ann Powell) of Delhi, Tom Howard (Alysia) of Oneonta and Patty Perkins of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Chris (Jess), Ken (Shannon), Kristen, Emily, Rachael (Gabe) and Ryan; and her sister Edith Platt of Red Hook. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Jane's memory can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Delhi.
