He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Ackerman and Irma Ackerman (Lindstrom); his wife Melissa Ackerman (Storms); and his siblings, Phil, Fred and Roseanne Ackerman.
He is survived by: his children, Jodie Ackerman of Rochester, Axel Ackerman (Lauralee) of West Valley, Aimee Burgos (Chris) of Amherst and Angie Rhoads (Rusty) of Freedom; and his siblings, Clayton Ackerman (Diane) of Hume, Jerry Ackerman (late Marcia) of McMinville, TN, Peggy Herring (Paul) of Tennessee, Karen Bloom (Tom Eichberg) of East Aurora, Ted Ackerman (Brenda) of Farmersville Station and Todd Ackerman (Darlene) of Fillmore. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
