He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick James and Elsie Revell Richey; and his sister Janet Rohrbacher of Toledo, Ohio.. He is survived by: his children, Michael Richey of Columbus, Adrienne Jenkins of Indianapolis, Kevin Richey of Troy and Kelly Richey (Joe Hardwick) of Sydney, Ohio; his siblings, James Richey (Gail) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Freya McDonnell of Lackawanna and Noreen Hopkins (Mark) of Delevan; and his close friends, Nick and Esther Burns of Delevan. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
