He was predeceased by: his parents, VanTuyl Schaeffer and Georgina Schaeffer. He is survived by: his wife Doris; his sons, John (Denise), Glen (Tracey) and Bryan (Terry); his grandchildren, Levi, Cassidy, Noah, Emily, Travis, Cayla, Valerie, Jack and Joey; and his sister-in-law June Van Wie.
