It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hattye V. Mays (Deer Park, New York), born in Montgomery, Alabama, who passed away on August 4, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Bailey and Annie Jane Bailey; and her brothers, Raymond, Lester and Henry Bailey.

She is survived by: her husband Nathaniel; her children, Deborah Ludy (Steven), Carolyn Bailey, Stephanie Mays, Nathaniel Mays (Janet), Reginald Mays (Eileen) and Paula Mays; her siblings, Wanda Caine (Nolan), Jeanne LeGrand of Queens, NY and David Bailey (Mattie); and her pet Ava. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
