He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hemmer and Margaret Hemmer (Kimmel); his sisters, Natalie Hemmer, Gert (Reg Thompson), Bun (Cliff Lockhart), Hilda (Jim Conklin), Mernie (Jean Mason) and Eve (Marty Smith); and his nephews, David Thompson, James W. Conklin II and Geoffrey Conklin.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Hemmer of Dansville; his children, Lynn Hemmer (Debi O'Dell) of Horseheads and Marcia Miller (James) of Dansville; his brother Richard "Pete" Hemmer (Mary); his brother-in-law Jim Buck (Joyce); and his cousin Debbie Ohstrom.
