He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Lown and Grace Wambold Lown; his former wife Helen Wolfanger Lown; his son David; and his siblings, Barbara Cramer and Keith Lown.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Wirth Lown of Dansville; his children, Sandy Black (Paul) of Dansville, Lynn Tracy (Jeff) of Dansville and Rodney Lown (Vicki) of Geneseo; his stepchildren, Jane Bourgoine (Dean) of Wayland and John T. Wilson (Cindy) of Canandaigua; and his brother Willard Lown. He is also survived by ten grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
