She is survived by: her close friend John Hanson; her children, Melissa Backer and Nick Kostarellis; her grandson Timathy Backer; and her siblings, Debbie McWhorter (Jimmy), Vicky Brady, Mary McAllister (Dennis), Cheryl Brown and Abram Carter Jr.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
