He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Carpenter and Gertrude Carpenter (Dann); his stepfather Roland Carney; his siblings, Earl Carpenter Jr., Albert "Pat" Carpenter, Nita Philbrick and Pauline Carpenter; his stepsiblings, Donald Carney, Ralph Carney and Doris Menteer; and his great grandchildren, Justin Carpenter and Seth Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Carpenter; his children, Joyce Roberts (Neil), Sally Russell (Dickie Driesbach) and Larry Carpenter (Linda); his grandchildren, Robbi Carpenter (Patty), Joshua Roberts, Matthew Russell (Kara), Erica Conge (Chuck), Adam Russell and Larry Carpenter II; and his siblings, Minnie May "Mitzy" Barcomb (Gary) and Charles "Rusty" Carpenter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
