He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Varin and Margaret Varin; his parents-in-law, Francis and Arlene Patnode; his siblings-in-law, Donald Patnode, James Gebo and Robin Patnode; and his son-in-law Steven DuBray.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry (Patnode); his daughter Lynne Seymour (Jeff); his stepdaughters, Nancy Hoyt (John) and Laura DuBray; his sister Connie (Steve); his siblings-in-law, Jerry, Patrick Patnode (Cynthia) and Marybeth Gebo; and his grandchildren, Brandon DuBray, Madison DuBray, Erin Fitzsimmons, Andrea Hoyt, Claire and Paige Seymour. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to the Dannemora Fire Department.
