He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Callen and Edna Weaver Callen; his wife Kathryn Nelson; and his siblings, Fannie Barnes, Mary Ann Mosher, Nancy Bach, George Ferris, Chester Callen, Charles Callen and Raymond Callen.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth "Buffy" Callen-Pratt (Jeff) of Cuba, NY, Rev. Ann Dixon (Scott) of Falls Creek, PA and John (Kathie); and his granddaughter Andrea (Chris). He is also survived by three great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
